First of all, the free forging process is to first put the metal blank heated to a certain temperature between the upper and lower irons of the forging equipment. Then use buffer pressure for forging, so that the blank material undergoes a certain shape deformation processing method. The characteristics of free forging determine its shortcomings, and it can only be used for heavy forgings with simple operation and small batches. From the initial manual section to today's machine forging, the production process and methods are much simpler, and greatly liberate the labor intensity of the labor force. The device free section has gradually developed into the main method of casting production.
Die forging is a different forging method from free forging. The full name is model forging. The process is formed by placing heated blanks in die forging equipment and molds for forging. In industrial production, die forging can be carried out on many equipment. In production, most of the die forging on the hammer uses a steam-air hammer. The forging capacity of this equipment is 5kn to 300kn (0.5 to 30t). The die forging of the press usually uses a hot die forging press, and the general tonnage is between 250t and 630t. Die forging dies mainly include two types: single die forging die and multi-milling die forging die. In order to prevent the loosening and movement of the die, dovetail grooves and oblique grooves are generally used for fixing.
